Passports

This section provides you with all the information you need when applying for a UK passport.

Passports issued at British diplomatic missions do not state the place of issue. Under 'place of issue' your passport will read 'FCO' (for Foreign & Commonwealth Office).

Once we have your fully completed application, it will take up to 10 working days for your passport to be issued.  This does not include the time it takes to post to and from the Consulate. If your previous passport has been lost or stolen, it may also take longer to process.   The British Embassy, Consular Section, cannot provide progress updates as this delays the process.
