Israel and the United Kingdom Hold Strategic Dialogue Meeting (14/10/2009)
Today in Jerusalem, Israel and the United Kingdom held a strategic dialogue meeting, headed by the Permanent Under-Secretary of the British Foreign Office, Sir Peter Ricketts, and the Director General of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Mr Yossi Gal.
The strategic dialogue between the U.K. and Israel is a central component in the longstanding tradition of close and cooperative bilateral relations between both countries.
Today's strategic dialogue discussions, in which representatives of several government departments from both countries are participating, covered a wide range of regional issues that are at the core of the current strategic agenda.
The high-level strategic dialogue discussions today were the second such meeting – following the first UK-Israel Strategic Dialogue in London in April 2008 - and complement the ongoing intensive contacts between Israel and the UK on the full range of issues discussed today.
