Prime Minister sends Rosh Hashanah greetings (30/09/2008)
The Prime Minister has sent the following greetings to the Jewish community on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year that began at sundown on Monday.
At this special time in the Jewish calendar, it gives me great pleasure to extend to the Jewish Community in the UK my warmest greetings as it joins with Jewish communities all over the world in celebrating Rosh Hashanah.
British Jewry has a long and proud tradition, and in the year ahead may you continue to grow from strength to strength and continue to make such a valued contribution.
This year, and every year, may all your prayers be answered and may your new year be peaceful, successful and joyful. I wish you and your families Shanah Tovah.
Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP
Prime Minister
