Applying for British Citizenship
Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002
- according to the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 some people born before 1 January 1983, whose mothers were citizens of the United Kingdom and Colonies are entlitled to registration as a British Citizen
- the guide and application form UKM (see links below) are for certain people born between 7 February 1961 and 31 December 1982 to mothers who were citizens of the United Kingdom and Colonies at the time of the birth

Home Office Fees
Fees are subject to change without notice and can only be accepted in New Israeli Shekels (NIS). Postal applications may only be paid by postal order payable to the British Embassy. Please add NIS 10 for the return of the passport by registered mail (this charge is non-refundable).
If you make your application in person at the Consulate the fees may be paid in cash or by postal order payable to the British Embassy (we do not accept personal cheques or credit cards).
The current consular rate of exchange, effective 5 June 2009, is £1 = 7.00 NIS.
